The Kick-off Meeting for the drawing up of the best available techniques reference document for the Production of Batteries in Gigafactories (PBG BREF) took place as a hybrid meeting from 15 to 17 June 2026. More than 80 participants representing EU Member States and Norway, industry, environmental NGOs, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) and services of the Commission came together to launch work in this emerging sector.
